Within this site you will find a selection of images, highlighting the work of Kelly Irving. I work in various media, but photographic based imagery is a longstanding, and productive, favourite. Examples of my output in both graphic arts and fine arts are also included to display the variety, and interconnections, of my work.
Although many of my images are straight photos (i.e. unmanipulated images) I also enjoy manipulating imagery, either digitally or physically. Some of my work I call photographics as it's photobased but incorporates other media/forms. At one time I manipulated photographic images using collage and multimedia. Processes I still use but now much of my work is digital. I continue to experiment and mix things up for fun and adventure. And I enjoy having a darkroom [+] all in a laptop.
Although I have tried to organize the pages into logical sections there is some overlap and arbitrary decisions had to be made. The viewer may either browse or, if you need to find something quickly, there's a larger Site Index. This web site evolves as I produce new work and digitize older works. My most recent work is highlighted on this page and in the Main Photo Index. Some sections, such as the Arts section, will be fleshed out as I work through my archives. My home is on Pender Island, one of the Gulf Islands in the province of British Columbia (BC), Canada. However, I love to travel and am frequently elsewhere (but always enjoy coming home to beautiful Pender Island). I once operated a graphics design company (kellyi Design) but am now focused on producing my own work: photo prints, mixed media works and printed items such as stickers and T-shirts.
